Chittagong Vikings

Chittagong Vikings is a franchise cricket team that plays in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) representing the division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The team was formerly known as Chittagong Kings during the first two edition of the tournament, and one of the six founding members of Bangladesh Premier League. The team is owned by DBL Group, taking over it's ownership from SQ Sports. The primary home ground of the team is Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, however, the team also plays some of their home games at MA Aziz Stadium. Chittagong Kings were the runner-up of BPL2.After BPL 2, The team's ownership was transferred to DBL group. With the change in ownership, the team's name, mascot and squad was also changed by the new administration. The team name was changed to Chittagong Vikings.

The franchise of Chittagong “Dulal Brothers Limited (DBL)” has already started to make their team. Following this, they have included some star players . They are also on the verge of finalize their team name. And the name will be Chittagong Vikings!

Owner Information

Mr. M.A.Jabbar - Managing Director, a distinguished personality in the RMG sector of Bangladesh, is the main architect of DBL Group. He is Computer Science graduate from USA, who with a vision to give his bit to economy of the country returned to Bangladesh, and joined Dulal Brothers Limited as Marketing Director. His dynamic leadership brought in growth opportunities for the company resulting in setting up of more industries for Dulal Brothers Limited and the birth of the acronym DBL Group.

The former captain of the National team and current BCB director Akram Khan is acting as adviser of the team Chittagong. He along with the officials of DBL met AJM Nasir Uddin, the mayor of Chittagong City Corporation as well as the vice-president of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Akram Khan said, “We will make our team to be the champion. Tamim Iqbal is our icon player.” Probably the coach is going to be either India’s Robin Singh or Pakistan’s Aaqib Javed.

They also want to collect the best foreign players. Till now Akram Khan contacts with Sri Lankan top order Batsman Tilakaratne Dilshan and Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir who has back to domestic cricket some days ago after completing his ban on playing any types of cricket. They also confirm Pakistan’s hard hitter batsman Umar Akmal and Zimbabwe’s ODI captain Elton Chigumbura as their foreign player of the team.
